How to find a photographer in Seoul:

Find someone who speaks your language.

• Being able to communicate with your photographer is more important than finding someone local that you cannot understand. So much of a photoshoot requires good and clear communication to achieve beautiful, effortless photos.

Use Google, Instagram, etc. to look for photographers that are in Seoul or are willing to travel to Seoul.

• Don’t be afraid to reach out and see if the photographer has the dates you want available. It never hurts to ask and form a connection.

Look through a photographers portfolio to see if your styles match.

• Color, light, composition all need to come together. Do you prefer shots that are candid or more posed? Don’t know how to decide? The photos should just feel right to you.

Where to take pictures in Seoul.

It is a vibrant and diverse city that combines traditional South Korean culture with modern influences. Here are some ideas so you can be the star of your own K-drama:

Go traditional

• Rent a hanbok and walk through one of Seoul’s historic palaces for a one-of-a-kind photoshoot. Gyeongbokgung, Changgyeonggung and Changdeokgung palace all offer their own beautiful backdrops and breathtaking surrounding architecture. Walk through Bukchon Hanok Village or Insadong and visit tea houses for an experience that is uniquely South Korean.

Go for nature

• Nothing is prettier than the natural scenery in locations such as Seoul Forest, Namsan Park and Yeouido Hangang Park. If you feel like venturing further, Nami Island and the coveted Jeju Island are also top picks for beautiful scenery. All are K-drama worthy and landscaped to perfection. These places are also stunning to photograph in any season.

Go urban

• Seoul has amazing food markets, street stalls, and cafes that make for very interesting photos. Nighttime in Seoul also offers a completely different feel of neon lights, vibrant streets, buskers, and an exciting energy.
